Police Department


The Okmulgee Police Department works to enforce laws, apprehend criminals, and prepare cases for prosecution. The department focuses on the safety and protection of citizens and property. The Okmulgee Police Department currently employs 27 full-time officers, ranging from a chief to several patrolmen. The Okmulgee Police Department promotes education and public relations programs. Neighborhood Watch

Okmulgee is also developing its new Neighborhood Watch Program. For information, contact the Police Department at (918)-758-1141. 

Animal Control

Okmulgee Animal Control is dispatched through the Okmulgee Police Department contact Animal Control at (918)-756-3511. 

Animal Control is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the operation of the City Animal Shelter, which is utilized by the Humane Society. The Animal Control Officer (ACO) enforces the city ordinance regarding animals within the city limits. The ACO is empowered to issue warnings or citations to animal owners that are in violation of these ordinances.
