The Okmulgee Police Department works to: enforce laws, apprehend criminals, and prepare cases for prosecution. The department focuses on the safety and protection of citizens and property. The Okmulgee Police Department promotes education and public relations programs.

Animal Control

Okmulgee Animal Control is dispatched through the Okmulgee Police Department.  You can contact them at 918-756-3511

Animal Control is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the operation of the City Animal Shelter, which is utilized by the Humane Society. The Animal Control Officer (ACO) enforces the city ordinance regarding animals within the city limits. The ACO is empowered to issue warnings or citations to animal owners that are in violation of these ordinances.

Okmulgee County Humane Society

Mission

The Okmulgee Humane Society is a non-profit organization that is not affiliated with the City of Okmulgee. The animal shelter is owned and regulated by the City of Okmulgee and the Animal Control Officer. The Humane Society has a office at the shelter so they might save the dogs and cats the Animal Control Officer brings in from being put down.

Adoption

To adopt or foster animals in the shelter or other adoptable pets, contact the Okmulgee County Humane Society at 918-759-2000.
